Bre Przestrzelski, Ph.D.
Innovation & Design Thinking
Bre seeks to empower others through design. Bre is a bioengineer turned designer, by training and experience. At Clemson University, they were a three-time graduate of the bioengineering program (BS, MS, and Ph.D.), founder of The Design & Entrepreneurship Network (DEN), and Division I rower. At Stanford University, Bre was a University Innovation Fellow and teaching team member of the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school). Bre now coaches a global community of learners through IDEO U and the d.school, and enjoys advising countless institutions rooted in community empowerment and equitable change.
As a post-doctoral research associate at the University of San Diego, Bre spent two years working on a National Science Foundation grant aimed at integrating social justice into the traditional engineering curriculum. At that time, Bre was introduced to Centauric, where Bre is currently a senior associate bringing their experience with creative-curriculum-building and passion for crafting innovative learning experiences outside of traditional academia. Bre has partnered with Centauric in building customer-centered strategies and programs with innovation executives at American Honda and strategy executives at the Motorcycle Industry Council.
Bre has a focus on purposeful impact and has worked with experts in anti-human sex trafficking in the USA, biomedical students in Tanzania, and Hollywood screen-writers. In their spare time, Bre chases sunsets, hikes in the rain, and fails miserably at cooking.
